In May we started an International Service to meet the needs of those who don’t understand Japanese. God has blessed this new outreach. We normally have about 20 or so attending this 9:00am service. Of course, we are carrying on our Japanese service (at 11:00am) too. God is continuing to bless these services as well with 30 or more attending.
This year is my parent’s 60th wedding anniversary. Mom and Dad are still blessed with good health. Dad is teaching Missions at Champion Baptist College in Hot Springs, AR. We thank the Lord for their faithfulness and godly influence in our own lives, our children’s lives and now our grandchildren’s lives.
The Stanfords Need Extra Support!
Since the dollar has dropped so much against the yen, Russ Stanford (our coworker here at Agape) has had to return to the US to help raise extra support. Joy and the kids, joined him this month and will be spending 3 months with him there, before returning to Japan in October. The Stanfords have been a real blessing to us and the work here in Nagaoka. Please pray for God to provide their needed support so they can return to the work here in Japan.
God’s Wonderful Provision
With the Stanfords in the US, we are left short handed. But God has led our son, Jonathan and his family (Tabitha, his wife, and their 5 kids) to come help us for the 3 months that the Stanfords will be in the US. This is a huge blessing for a number of reasons. First, it will be a huge help to work here. But it is also a real answer to prayer. Jonathan is prayerfully considering whether God might want him to return to Japan as a missionary. Please pray for God to make His will clear to Jonathan and Tabitha as they come to help. Pray also for God to supply Jon’s needs as he steps out in faith to follow the Lord.
Both Cindy and I are thrilled that she is going to be able to return to Japan (AT LAST!). She is planning to return on July 3rd. Please continue to pray for her and her health.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. You are a real blessing to us. We pray that God will bless you as you serve Him there.
