Dear Prayer Partner,
Our Mission’s Trip to Hong Kong
In October, God gave us an opportunity to visit Brother & Mrs. Yoshida, Japanese missionaries to Hong Kong. We were invited to speak at their church’s annual Missions Conference. We had a wonderful week fellowshipping with the Yoshidas and their church family. They are doing a wonderful work in Hong Kong and in China as well. Please pray with us that God will raise up many more Japanese co-workers like the Yoshidas.
Our Christmas Services
December, with 6 Christmas services, was an extra busy month for us. Though this year’s attendance was down a little, we thank the Lord for the opportunity to proclaim the Christ of Christmas to those in Nagaoka.
The Very First Time to Hear
This year, Miss Hinako attended our Ladies Christmas Service. After the message, I asked her if she had ever heard the Christmas Story. To which she responded, “No, today was the very first time!” Miss Hinako has an iPhone 6, eats at McDonalds, drinks Cokes, works at Stella’s (an American cookie bakery), and yet she had never heard about Christ’s birth. Sadly, in Japan, this is the rule, not the exception. Please pray that Miss Hinako will continue to attend Agape and soon trust Christ as her Savior.
Our Online Outreach Ministry
Recently God has sent a number of people our way through our online outreach ministry. There are also a number of people who listen to the Japanese preaching available on our website. One of those is Mrs. Sato who has been coming our church for the past year. She is listening to sermons online, reading through the Bible, and seeking the truth about the Jesus Christ. Please pray with us for Mrs. Sato’s salvation.
Thank you for being so faithful to pray and give so that we can continue to tell the Japanese about our wonderful Savior. May God bless you in the coming New Year.
Co-Laborers for Christ,
Mike & Cindy Burgett
